Journal
for the New Testament in University, Church, School &
Society
Since
1998, the Zeitschrift für Neues Testament in Universität,
Kirche, Schule & Gesellschaft (ZNT) has been dedicated to
serving the general public’s interest. Questions and
issues pertaining to the academic study of the New Testament
are taken up with the interested non-specialist in mind.
ZNT
strives to -
aid its readers in developing an informed judgment of and a
responsible participation in current debates of theological
relevance. - mediate between those involved in the academic
study of the New Testament and the theological practitioners in
churches, schools and other spheres of society.
Therefore,
ZNT seeks to -
present central theological topics as discussed by scholars of
the New Testament and related fields in a way that is of
interest to the general public; - analyze theological
topics of importance to the current discourse in society. -
win scholars from all fields of New Testament Studies as
authors who wish to adress and inform an international
audience.
The
concept
of ZNT reflects these concerns. Wirh its mix of lead articles,
a debate adressing a controversial issue, an article covering a
special hermeneutical topic and a book report, each issue is
especially designed to introduce individual readers into
complex areas of New Testament research and at the same time to
support teachers in their educational efforts in church,
school, or university.
ZNT
is published twice yearly with issues forthcoming in April and
October. Many issues are fully dedicated to one specific topic
only which is discussed by all contributors. These are our
‘Themenhefte’. The ‘Themenhefte’ in
particular are designed for application in a concrete
educational setting, be it in church, school, or university.
